For the whole-hearted children of God, there are two widely different sources of true joy and delight:

I. What God has already given and done. All our sin is wiped out and thrown into the sea of oblivion, and our name is written in the book of life, etc.

II. All that he has not yet as yet given us and done in us, all that he has promised in his word, all salvation and transformation and innovation, here in the time of grace, and in the resurrection and eternity! As long as the hope of this is alive, it is impossible not to overly delight in this, and for this to happen!
