This book is the third volume of the complete writings of Johan Oscar Smith in their original, unabridged form. Through his personal letters and the articles he wrote for Skjulte Skatter, we are able to follow him during the time that his brother Aksel became gravely ill and died in January 1919, and when the church in Horten got their own meeting hall. In 1920, Smith also published his commentaries on the Letter to the Ephesians, and the Book of Ruth. His brother Aksel had started writing the Book of Ruth before his death. In this period, it is also interesting to follow along with how Smith worked with Edvin Bekkevold, who eventually became responsible for the church in Oslo following Thorleif Hansen’s death, only six months after Aksel. For the interested reader, this collection of letters and articles will provide profound insight into those things Johan Oscar Smith regarded as being essential for those who desire to live a wholehearted Christian life.
